Jordan A. Dyett, PhD, LCSW, is a community-based researcher and Assistant Professor in the Division of Social Work at the University of Wyoming. A Utah native, she earned a BA in Critical Global Studies from Westminster University and both her MSW and PhD in Social Work from SUNY Albany. During graduate school, she practiced clinical social work in an outpatient addiction clinic while engaging in community-based participatory research. Her research focuses on substance use disorders, drug-related grief, harm reduction, and rural behavioral health, emphasizing lived experience and community knowledge to improve clinical practice and treatment. In this talk, Dr. Dyett will outline the community-engaged research continuum and key methodological considerations for partnering with communities. She will share examples from her research to illustrate different points along the continuum and show how this approach complements other methods in addressing the drug crisis.
