Title: Local volume of klt singularities and boundedness in general type MMP
Abstract: The local volume of Kawamata log terminal singularities is an invariant introduced by Chi Li with motivation from questions in K-stability. I will introduce this invariant and explain how it can be used to show that in any general type MMP, the minimal log discrepancy of singularities takes only finitely many values, and the fibers of all flipping contractions and flips fall into finitely many deformation types. Based on joint work with Jingjun Han and Lu Qi.
