This presentation focused on identifying and addressing bias and stigma related to Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment and addiction. Participants learned to:
Use person-first language and recognize as well as avoid stigmatizing statements, attitudes, and constructs.
Demonstrate non-stigmatizing interactions with individuals affected by SUDs.
Educate others about non-stigmatizing approaches to SUDs and addiction by normalizing SUDs as medical conditions that should be treated like any other health issue.
