Dr. Alycia Bristol is an Assistant Professor at the University of Utah College of Nursing. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and a Master of Science in Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist from Loma Linda University in California. In addition, she received a PhD in Nursing, from the University of Arizona, for her Project: Family Caregivers' Experiences During Transitions Within an Acute Care Setting. Dr. Bristol’s research broadly seeks to address the care needs of hospitalized older adults and family caregivers, with a particular focus on patient safety and care quality. She has conducted research in the areas of caregiving, palliative care, dementia symptom management, and care transitions. Dr. Bristol is currently examining the influence of intra-hospital transitions on discharge planning and caregivers’ readiness for discharge.
