Title: Singularities of square-free polynomials
Abstract: In the first part of the talk I will give an introduction to rational singularities. In the second part, I will show that hypersurfaces defined by square-free polynomials have rational singularities. This is based on joint work with Daniel Bath and Uli Walther.
