The majority of LVAD patients do not have strong pulsatile flow. The continuous flow nature of an LVAD makes it difficult even for modern automatic blood pressure cuffs to detect a blood pressure. This video demonstrates how to check a blood pressure using a doppler and manual pressure cuff.
