Title: Lovász-Saks-Schrijver ideals
Abstract: Given a graph G and a vector space V equipped with a non-degenerate symmetric bilinear form, the Lovász-Saks-Schrijver (LSS) ideal defines an affine scheme that parametrizes orthogonal representations of G in V, that is, functions G -> V that send adjacent vertices to orthogonal vectors. In this talk, we will explore the algebra and geometry of LSS ideals, with particular focus on the components and singularities of the affine schemes they define. This talk is based on an ongoing collaboration with Laura Casabella.
